The Insurance Client Relations Specialist at Big I Kentucky plays a crucial role in fostering strong customer connections by addressing inquiries and resolving issues with efficiency and professionalism. This position involves daily interactions with clients, insurance providers, and colleagues while executing specific service and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist current clients with policy updates, provide quotes, process payments, respond to inquiries, and supply necessary documentation.
  • Handle incoming calls and correspondence regarding both new and existing insurance policies, ensuring all claims are serviced, including after-hours claims.
  • Engage with prospective clients or support a producer to identify their needs, gather essential information, research policy alternatives, present options, finalize and secure new coverage, cancel outdated policies, and negotiate with carriers as needed.
  • Schedule appointments or client discussions to review current policies, assess liability limits and exposures, explore additional coverage requirements, evaluate replacement costs, enhance accounts, and finalize renewals.
  • Communicate with clients to deliver comprehensive information about products and services, quote new business, manage renewals or cancellations, process payments, and provide requested documentation.
  • Resolve product or service concerns by clarifying the client’s issue, identifying the root cause, selecting and explaining the most effective solution, expediting corrections or adjustments, and following up to ensure resolution.
  • Review audits or policies for accuracy and facilitate necessary corrections between the client and the insurance carrier.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and transactions, documenting inquiries, comments, and actions taken in the agency management system.
  • Collaborate with team members, mentor junior staff, provide expertise, answer questions, and participate in both formal and informal meetings as required.
Qualifications
  • Possess the insurance license mandated by your state and have at least two years of experience in commercial lines insurance account management, along with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of insurance products, rating and underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage and service assigned clients and prospects.
  • Demonstrate a strong customer-centric approach and excellent phone etiquette; possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as proficient math and reading abilities for calculations.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency, attention to detail, organizational skills, multitasking capabilities, and the ability to manage challenging situations with clients and resolve complex issues independently.
  • Showcase excellent time management skills with a personal accountability mindset, alongside proficiency in technology and computer systems, including agency management software, rating tools, and navigation of carrier websites.
