Role Summary
The Retail Operations Supervisor collaborates closely with the Store Manager to oversee all facets of store operations, which include managing donations, sales, staff supervision, financial outcomes, and loss prevention initiatives. This role demands a high level of integrity and transparency in all business dealings. The position is designed as a stepping stone towards a managerial role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Guide the activities of store personnel and volunteers to ensure accurate processing of sales and donations.
  • Communicate the organization’s mission and values while fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures by store staff.
  • Assist the Store Manager with recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Exemplify leadership and serve as a positive role model for retail employees.
  • Report any loss prevention issues to the Store Manager promptly.
  • Manage time effectively and oversee staff schedules to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Take responsibility for the completion of assigned duties.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities in good working order.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization on the sales floor.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager on budget development and management.
  • Support the Store Manager in maximizing financial performance and achieving business objectives.
  • Ensure quality control in retail operations.
  • Contribute to team success by engaging others in decision-making processes.
  • Handle bank deposits and related cash management tasks.
  • Provide support to store staff as needed.
  • Travel to various locations within the organization’s territory as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of retail experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and reliable transportation.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of employment.
  • DSP training or the ability to complete it within one year for locations with service participants.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding organizational operations and personnel matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact respectfully with individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Familiarity with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of LLGI.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift or move up to fifty (50) pounds of merchandise safely.
  • Capability to push and pull heavy racks of clothing.
  • Ability to bend and reach for items stored at various heights.
  • Manual dexterity for operating cash registers and tagging equipment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capacity to perform a variety of physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and sorting items.
  • Visual acuity to assess the quality of donated items.
  • Ability to detect undesirable odors in donations.
Work Environment
  • Light industrial/warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures.
  • Potential exposure to allergens such as dust and pet hair.
  • Occasional travel to other locations.
Tools and Equipment
Cash register, credit/debit card machines, barcode scanners, shopping carts, and various retail equipment.
