Role Summary
The Carrier Sales Specialist is tasked with nurturing and managing relationships with our network of carriers to ensure optimal service delivery and cost efficiency for our clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pricing for Partial TL and expedited shipments, including Spot Freight quotes.
- Assess pallet dimensions and determine appropriate equipment for each shipment.
- Cultivate relationships with partial and expedited carriers.
- Analyze market trends and Spot Quote data.
- Implement tiered pallet pricing strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing carriers to enhance service quality.
- Negotiate competitive rates based on current market conditions.
- Relay shipment details and requirements to carrier dispatch and drivers throughout the shipping process.
- Monitor shipment progress daily to ensure timely delivery and address any issues that arise during transit.
- Communicate updates, challenges, and concerns to sales representatives effectively.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Carrier Sales or Logistics Operations, preferably in a 3PL setting.
- In-depth knowledge of Partial freight is essential, with additional experience in dry van, reefer, and FB loads being advantageous.
- Exceptional negotiation skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- A collaborative mindset, coupled with self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
- A drive for success and the ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
- Strong organizational capabilities.
- A persistent and positive attitude.
- Willingness to manage shipments outside of standard business hours when necessary.
- A robust book of business focused on Partial freight is preferred.
