RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Safeguard individuals and property within the designated educational facility.

2. Reports directly to the school Principal while collaborating with Safety and Security management.

3. Welcomes, registers, and screens visitors at the main entrance, issuing visitor passes and guiding them to their intended locations.

4. Conducts regular patrols and monitors assigned areas of the school premises, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas to deter, identify, and report any violations of law or school policy.

5. Identifies, investigates, and reports unauthorized or suspicious individuals, vehicles, and activities.

6. Oversees and directs student movement throughout the school and its properties.

7. Alerts administrative personnel, law enforcement, fire services, or other relevant authorities regarding security or emergency situations.

8. Operates metal detection equipment and performs searches as instructed.

9. Utilizes and implements guard tour programs based on specific school assignments.

10. Assists in conducting fire drills, lockdown drills, and other emergency preparedness exercises as required.

11. Completes all necessary staff development training mandated by the safety/security department.

12. Monitors and ensures efficient and safe traffic flow during student arrival and dismissal times.

13. Maintains a highly visible presence at all times, serving as a resource for students, staff, and visitors.

14. Performs additional related duties as assigned by the principal, supervisor, or other designated administrators.

15. Collaborates closely with building custodial staff.

16. Depending on assignment, may assist with security-related matters during after-school events such as open houses and sporting activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Preferred experience of three to five years in a security officer role.

2. High School Diploma or equivalent.

3. Valid Driver's License.

4. Flexibility and willingness to work schedules and locations that align with departmental needs.

5. Must be a resident of the city.
