Key Responsibilities:
As the Clinical Nurse Coordinator for Patient Safety, you will:
- Oversee and facilitate the multidisciplinary team peer review process.
- Manage cases that require reporting to the Board of Registration in Medicine (BORM), including the preparation of necessary documentation.
- Coordinate the Service-Line Performance Improvement process, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met.
- Conduct investigations into best practices, compile benchmark reports, and perform gap analyses to inform Service-Line PI Teams.
- Act as an expert in improvement methodologies, including Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and LEAN methods.
- Provide ongoing education on improvement strategies to various teams and hospital staff.
- Engage in Culture of Safety initiatives, leading both formal and informal programs.
- Participate actively in Performance Improvement Huddles, managing follow-up actions.
- Support the regulatory reporting processes for quality and patient safety.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN or BA).
- 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to conduct thorough chart and case reviews.
- Experience in Patient Safety, Quality Improvement, or peer review is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the capability to lead teams effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
