Job Overview

We are looking for a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to provide essential support to individuals facing challenges related to substance use. This role involves delivering comprehensive counseling services while addressing the complexities of substance dependence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions at least twice weekly.
  • Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring all case management and utilization review updates are current.
  • Conduct thorough substance abuse evaluations and prepare detailed assessment summaries.
  • Assist clients in identifying substance-related issues and developing healthier coping strategies.
  • Complete all necessary client documentation, including progress notes and monthly reports, promptly.
  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings, team discussions, and supervision sessions.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing direct behavioral health services in social work.
  • Must possess an Associate of Arts degree along with CSAC and ASAM certifications to effectively lead the Intensive Outpatient Substance Services program.
  • Experience collaborating with psychiatrists or physicians in delivering Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Services is required.
  • Proven experience managing an IOP Substance program for both adolescents and adults.
Licensure Requirements:
  • Current CSAC or CSAC-A Registration with VADHP.
  • A valid state driver's license and current auto insurance.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid Training and Crisis Wave training (to be completed within 15 days of employment).
