We are looking for a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to provide essential support and guidance to individuals facing challenges related to substance dependence. This role involves delivering comprehensive counseling services and fostering a deeper understanding of addiction issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate group therapy sessions at least twice weekly.
- Manage a caseload of clients, ensuring all case management and utilization review updates are current.
- Conduct thorough substance abuse evaluations and prepare detailed assessment reports.
- Assist clients in identifying substance-related problems and developing healthier coping strategies.
- Complete all necessary client documentation, including progress notes and monthly reports, promptly.
- Participate in mandatory staff meetings, team discussions, and supervision sessions.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in providing direct behavioral health services.
- Possession of an Associate of Arts degree and certifications (CSAC and ASAM) to serve as a program counselor.
- Experience collaborating with psychiatrists or physicians in delivering Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Services.
- Proven experience in managing an Intensive Outpatient Program for both adolescents and adults.
- Current CSAC or CSAC-A Registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
- A valid state driver's license and current auto insurance.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid and Crisis Wave training (to be completed within 15 days of employment).
