Job Summary

The Research Administrator II is responsible for coordinating the administrative and financial aspects of all sponsored projects and research-related activities and personnel within the area of responsibility at the Children's Hospital of Orange County.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the administrative and financial aspects of sponsored projects, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with federal regulations.
  • Provide support to research personnel, including preparing and submitting grant proposals, managing research-related documents, and coordinating research-related meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as federal regulations and guidelines related to sponsored research.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to research administration, including grant management, contract management, and research-related compliance.
  • Collaborate with research personnel, departmental administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure effective research administration and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of progressive experience in sponsored research grants and contracts administration, preferably in industry or at a university or nonprofit research institution.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret and apply federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with research personnel, departmental administrators, and other stakeholders.

The position requires strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
