Job Summary

The Research Administrator II is a key member of the research operations team at Children's Hospital of Orange County. This role is responsible for coordinating the administrative and financial aspects of all sponsored projects and research-related activities and personnel within the area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the administrative and financial aspects of sponsored projects and research-related activities
  • Manage research-related personnel and ensure compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for research administration
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication with CHOC associates, funding agencies, and vendors
  • Stay up-to-date with federal regulations and organizational policies related to research administration
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years of progressive experience in sponsored research grants and contracts administration
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal regulations and organizational policies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience with federal grant and contract regulations
  • Experience with electronic/web-based grant submission processes
Work Environment

This role requires a light to moderate energy level and involves lifting and carrying up to 25-35 pounds. The physical activity requirements include bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use, and reaching.
