Job Summary

The Research Administrator II is a key member of the research operations team at the Children's Hospital of Orange County. This role is responsible for coordinating the administrative and financial aspects of all sponsored projects and research-related activities and personnel within the area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the administrative and financial aspects of sponsored projects and research-related activities
  • Manage research-related personnel and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for research administration
  • Provide training and support to research staff on research administration and grant/contract activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of progressive experience in sponsored research grants and contracts administration
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strong knowledge of federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working Environment

The Research Administrator II will work in a fast-paced research environment and will be required to lift and carry 25-35 lbs. and push/pull 50-100 lbs. The physical activity requirements include bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use/repetitive motion, pinching/fine motor activities, pushing/pulling, reaching forward, reaching overhead, sitting, squatting/kneeling/crawling, standing, talking/hearing, tasting/smelling, twisting, walking, and wrist position deviation.
