About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department, assisting in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus that meet the needs of our clients and customers.
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed our clients' expectations.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with our Company's marketing and culinary teams.
Requirements
  • A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
  • Catering experience is a plus.
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences are helpful.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
  • ServSafe certified is highly desirable.
