Position Overview:

The selected candidate will act as a pivotal contributor and proactive initiator within the Private Equity Business Development division. This role involves collaborating with various firm resources to formulate and implement a market growth strategy tailored for each assigned private equity firm, while also supporting other initiatives within the organization. A comprehensive understanding of the firm's private equity strategy will be essential, leveraging tools, support, and best practices to enhance relationships and expand business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research on assigned private equity firms, delivering insightful analysis and data to support the Private Equity Business Development team, Directors, and Partners.
  • Address inquiries from Private Equity Business Developers and Partners regarding private equity firms to aid in strategic pursuits.
  • Assist in research, analysis, and planning for the overall Private Equity practice.
  • Collaborate with current Private Equity Business Development Directors and the team leader on key accounts and initiatives.
  • Engage with professional staff to address the private equity marketplace in a coordinated, team-oriented manner.
  • In partnership with the Private Equity Business Development Directors, establish and maintain robust sales pipelines and forecasts linked to validated opportunities.
  • Prepare and lead presentations and proposals.
  • Close sales and finalize agreements with clients.
  • Coordinate with the Private Equity Business Development Directors to lead a cross-functional team in pursuing all aspects of the private equity relationship.
  • Identify and utilize key industry and technical resources for new opportunities.
  • Drive the expansion and penetration of assigned private equity clients while maintaining existing engagements.
  • Understand the strategic plans and business strategies of each private equity firm (including industry focus, investment mandates, and exit strategies).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years of research experience or proven success in selling professional services.
  • Prior experience in consultative selling for a consulting or accounting firm is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of private equity and/or relevant experience is preferred.
  • Established network of Centers of Influence (COIs) including banking, legal, and other professional services relationships that can be leveraged for opportunities within private equity firms.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and execution capabilities.
  • Exceptional relationship management and networking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient presentation skills, with the ability to lead meetings with C-level executives.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a results-oriented environment.
  • Project management experience, with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines, alongside strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively as a productive team member.
  • Demonstrated experience in formal sales process implementation.
  • Experience using a CRM tool for reporting and sales tracking.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA.
  • Active network of private equity contacts.
  • Demonstrated involvement with industry associations, civic, and/or non-profit organizations.
  • Exemplary communication, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Big Four or other national firms is a significant advantage.

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $300,000. Selected individuals will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
