We are seeking an experienced Building Materials Sales Representative to join our team at GPAC. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for selling a wide variety of our building products through the achievement of opportunity-based sales.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet Sales Targets: Ensure delivery of target sales by meeting with customers and maintaining relationships.
  • Recommend Product Enhancements: Recommend service and product enhancements to improve sales potential.
  • Territory Management: Analyze plans and trends to ensure best assignment of territories, clients, and service distribution.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, participating in industry networks, and growing lasting client relationships.
  • Set Sales Objectives: Establish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volumes and forecasting.
  • Stay Relevant: Remain relevant with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand shifts, and product mix.
  • Team Collaboration: Positively contribute to full sales and customer service teams.
  • Documentation: Document customer interactions and maintain data related to activities, accounts, and vendor partners.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and collaborate on long- and short-term sales strategies.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of outside sales or direct contractor sales experience in Building Materials (lumber, roofing, drywall, steel framing, windows preferred).
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills.
  • Multitasking: Ability to multitask and plan.
  • Customer Service: World-class customer service skills.
  • Market Knowledge: Market experience and knowledge.
  • Sales Skills: Ability to recognize client needs and sell within the catalog of products.
  • Budgeting: Budget development.
  • Leadership: Process and people management.
  • Communication: Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
