Position Summary:

We are looking for a proficient and knowledgeable Industrial Plastic Injection Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be tasked with the upkeep, diagnostics, and repair of plastic injection molding machinery to guarantee peak performance and minimal operational interruptions. This role demands a solid technical foundation, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to operate independently in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on plastic injection molding machines and associated equipment to ensure dependable operation.
    • Keep precise records of maintenance tasks and machine performance metrics.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair:
    • Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system issues on plastic injection molding machines.
    • Repair or replace faulty components to restore machine functionality.
    • Work collaboratively with operators and production personnel to address machine-related challenges.
  • Calibration and Adjustment:
    • Calibrate and fine-tune plastic injection molding machines to maintain accuracy and precision in production processes.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety and performance standards.
  • Mold Maintenance:
    • Perform upkeep on injection molds, including cleaning, repairing, and adjusting molds to ensure product quality and operational efficiency.
    • Coordinate with the tool room for mold repairs and modifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
    • Notify the Maintenance Manager of any significant issues or recurring problems.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to enhance machine reliability and performance.
    • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and propose enhancements to maintenance protocols.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and utilize appropriate protective equipment at all times.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding equipment maintenance and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the maintenance of plastic injection molding machines or a related field. Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems of plastic injection molding machines.
    • Strong knowledge of schematics, technical manuals, and mold maintenance practices.
    • Familiarity with various brands and models of plastic injection molding machines.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to perform manual tasks, including heavy lifting and extended periods of standing.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to execute precise work and ensure high-quality maintenance standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Skill in identifying and addressing issues promptly and effectively.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a secure work environment.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate based on experience.
  • Senior Technicians: $35+ per hour.
