We are looking for a proficient and dedicated Plastic Mold Injection Maintenance Technician to become a part of our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be tasked with the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of plastic mold injection machinery to guarantee peak performance and minimal operational interruptions. This position demands a solid technical foundation, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to work autonomously in a fast-paced manufacturing atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on plastic mold injection equipment to ensure dependable operation.
    • Keep precise records of maintenance actions and machine performance metrics.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair:
    • Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system issues on injection molding machines.
    • Repair or replace faulty components to restore machine functionality.
    • Collaborate with production personnel to troubleshoot and rectify machine-related challenges.
  • Calibration and Adjustment:
    • Calibrate and fine-tune plastic mold injection machines to uphold precision in molding tasks.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety and performance standards.
  • Mold Maintenance:
    • Perform upkeep on injection molds, including cleaning, repairing, and adjusting to maintain quality and efficiency.
    • Coordinate with the tool room for mold repairs and modifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and parts inventory.
    • Notify the Maintenance Manager of any significant issues or recurring problems.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify areas for enhancing machine reliability and performance.
    • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and propose enhancements to maintenance practices.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and utilize appropriate protective equipment at all times.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding equipment maintenance and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in plastic mold injection machine maintenance or a related field. Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems of plastic mold injection machines.
    • Strong comprehension of schematics, technical manuals, and mold maintenance.
    • Familiarity with various brands and models of plastic mold injection machines.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual tasks, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to execute precise work and ensure high-quality maintenance.
  • Problem-Solving: Capability to identify and address issues promptly and effectively.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate based on experience.
  • Senior Technicians: $35+ per hour.
