Assistant Manager of Housing Operations

We are a mission-oriented and innovative property management organization dedicated to affordable multifamily and senior living solutions. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Assistant Manager for Residential Properties. This position requires a proactive and engaging leader with practical experience and a proven track record in managing teams and overseeing daily functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will report to a Property Manager and will excel in a collaborative environment. Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
  • Experience with government-subsidized housing programs is essential, along with familiarity with recertification procedures.
  • Certification as a Tax Credit Specialist and/or Certified Occupancy Specialist is preferred.
  • Proven experience in assisting with daily operations, maintenance initiatives, marketing strategies, leasing processes, and tenant certifications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and customer service communication skills are crucial; proficiency in MS-Word, Excel, and Outlook is advantageous, as is experience with Yardi software.
  • Able to collaborate with the manager, residents, and staff to foster a welcoming and cohesive environment.
  • A flexible mindset, positive demeanor, team spirit, and eagerness to learn are essential traits.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Manager of Housing Operations will support the Property Manager by handling various assigned responsibilities, including:
  • Ensuring compliance with HUD and state housing agency regulations.
  • Establishing and maintaining safety and health regulations for residents and staff.
  • Overseeing the preparation of contracts and ensuring that engineering specifications are included for all major repair projects.
  • Maintaining adherence to all Federal, State, and Local laws.
  • Assisting in rent collection, processing move-ins/move-outs in the Yardi system, and completing annual and interim household certifications.
  • Collaborating closely with other staff members in the property office and maintenance departments.
