Assistant Property Manager

We are a mission-driven and innovative property management organization dedicated to affordable multifamily and senior housing. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to take on the role of Assistant Property Manager. This position is ideal for a proactive and engaging leader with practical experience and a proven track record in managing teams and overseeing daily operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will report to the Property Manager and should excel in a collaborative environment. Key qualifications include:
  • Prior experience with government-assisted and subsidized housing programs is essential, along with knowledge of recertification processes.
  • Certification as a Tax Credit Specialist and/or Certified Occupancy Specialist is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in assisting with daily operations, maintenance programs, marketing and leasing activities, as well as occupancy and annual tenant certifications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and customer service communication skills are crucial; proficiency in computer applications (especially MS-Word, Excel, and Outlook) is advantageous, as is familiarity with Yardi software.
  • A capacity to envision and foster a harmonious and cohesive atmosphere in collaboration with the manager, residents, and staff.
  • A flexible mindset, positive attitude, team spirit, and eagerness to learn are essential traits.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Property Manager will support the Property Manager by managing various assigned tasks, including:
  • Ensuring alignment of systems within HUD and state housing agency parameters.
  • Guaranteeing that all relevant regulations are established to enhance resident and employee safety and health.
  • Ensuring that all contracts are meticulously prepared and that adequate engineering specifications are incorporated for all major repair projects.
  • Maintaining compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws.
  • Assisting in rent collection, processing move-ins/move-outs in the Yardi system, and completing annual and interim household certifications.
  • Collaborating closely with other staff members working in the property office or maintenance area.
