Position Overview

The Environmental Services Operations Manager is responsible for supervising personnel across multiple regions as they execute two primary functions:
  • Characterizing, segregating, packaging, and documenting various forms of hazardous waste.
  • Characterizing, segregating, packaging, and documenting various types of pharmaceutical waste.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of Environmental Technicians in both field and facility settings.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to conduct site assessments and prepare cost estimates.
  • Perform regular quality assurance visits to client locations, addressing and preventing any issues.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is complete and accurate to comply with state, federal, EPA, DOT, and DEA regulations, as well as any client-specific requirements.
  • Monitor staff performance against established guidelines and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with staff to provide updates and resolve any arising issues.
  • Assist in the development and modification of field Standard Operating Procedures to promote best practices among all Environmental Services staff.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, counsel, motivate, and, when required, terminate team members. Participate in the annual goal-setting and performance appraisal process, making compensation recommendations as appropriate.
  • Create training materials and ensure effective delivery of training sessions.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to management.
  • Support Sales with inspections of stores and distribution centers, acting as a liaison among Sales, Office Operations, and Environmental Services.
  • Manage field exceptions and resolve atypical challenges.
  • Assume responsibility for controlled pharmaceuticals on behalf of Enviri Corporation.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in lab packing, pharmaceutical waste segregation, chemical service specialization, or as a truck driver.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in hazardous waste processing.
  • At least two years of field management experience.
  • Willingness to take ownership of controlled pharmaceuticals on behalf of Enviri Corporation.
  • Ability to accurately classify controlled substances according to DEA guidelines.
  • Familiarity with RCRA, DOT, and DEA regulations related to waste characterization and hazardous waste transportation.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including MS Office Suite.
  • Willingness and ability to travel via automobile and commercial airline up to 25%, with occasional overnight travel.
  • Capability to regularly access and utilize general office equipment, including phones, computers, and copiers.
  • Able to work in a dynamic, often distracting environment that is generally climate-controlled.
