Credit Risk Manager

Job Overview

The Credit Risk Manager plays a crucial role in safeguarding the financial integrity of the organization by evaluating the creditworthiness of potential clients and nurturing ongoing customer relationships. This position involves reviewing and sanctioning credit applications in accordance with established criteria for commercial entities.



Key Responsibilities

• Assess and verify payment statuses with external clients to ensure alignment with the company's cash flow goals.
• Collaborate with internal departments to address billing discrepancies, disputes, and unapplied payments.
• Provide timely and professional responses to customer inquiries and requests.
• Assist in filing claims in small claims courts and supply necessary documentation for bankruptcy cases.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on collection activities and results as required by the business unit.
• Facilitate bi-weekly or monthly Accounts Receivable meetings.
• Maintain organized electronic files for customers, including executed credit applications, trade references, credit reports, financial documents, contracts, and purchase orders.
• Prepare necessary documentation with recommendations for third-party collections.
• Utilize knowledge of state bond and lien laws to safeguard receivables and assist in lien waiver execution as needed.
• Analyze risk exposure based on customer payment behaviors and credit sources, including credit reports, trade references, and public records.



Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in accounting, collections, and related software.
• Familiarity with commercial credit regulations, procedures, and operations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to create and interpret financial spreadsheets in Excel.
• Capable of analyzing financial data to evaluate creditworthiness and identify potential risks.
• Excellent multitasking abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Attention to detail when reviewing financial documents and managing accounts.
• Proactive approach to managing responsibilities and tasks.
