Job Description

Overview:

Lakin Tire West, LLC. is a premier tire recycling facility dedicated to eco-friendly practices and sustainability. Our focus is on the effective processing of used tires, transforming them into valuable resources while minimizing landfill impact.

We are in search of a meticulous and committed Maintenance Clerk to enhance our operational efficiency. The Maintenance Clerk will play a vital role in supporting the upkeep and repair of machinery utilized in tire recycling. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in maintenance operations, coupled with a strong emphasis on safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing & Receiving: Assist the Maintenance department with purchasing and receiving tasks, including generating purchase orders and reconciling invoices for accounts payable.
  • Time Keeping: Aid the Maintenance Manager in maintaining accurate time records through ADP.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and components, ensuring timely reordering and availability.
  • Documentation & Data Entry: Keep precise records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. Generate reports as necessary.
  • Safety Compliance: Support the Maintenance Manager in adhering to safety regulations and company protocols, including training and documentation.
  • Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, and other team members to schedule maintenance tasks and minimize operational disruptions.
  • CMMS Utilization: Employ Computer Maintenance Management System software to track maintenance data, create work orders, and conduct scheduling and reporting analysis.
  • Logistics Support: Provide backup assistance for scrap operation logistics as required.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Engineer or General Manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a maintenance role, ideally within a manufacturing or recycling context.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and repair methodologies.
  • Software Proficiency: Competent in utilizing maintenance management software and tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to document and report maintenance activities effectively.
  • Safety Awareness: Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in industrial maintenance.
  • Bilingual: Proficiency in both Spanish and English is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry light to medium loads (up to 30 pounds).
  • Capability to work in diverse environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime or respond to urgent maintenance needs.
  • Predominantly sedentary work with occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting.
