Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA). As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for planning, estimating, and scheduling preventative and corrective maintenance of plant equipment, machinery, and service systems to increase uptime and minimize unscheduled downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Equipment Maintenance Planning: Establish and assign routine maintenance schedules and coordinate machine downtime to ensure optimal production efficiency.
  2. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of parts and supplies with a focus on cost controls to minimize waste and optimize resource allocation.
  3. Workforce Management: Schedule work, coordinate production activities, and provide direct oversight of employees to ensure seamless execution of maintenance tasks.
  4. Predictive Maintenance: Ensure predictive and preventive maintenance programs are accomplished and repairs are completed to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  5. Budgeting and Capital Planning: Establish and maintain maintenance budgets and recommend capital improvements, including assisting in the design and installation of new equipment.
  6. Training and Development: Ensure maintenance crew understands and is able to troubleshoot all machine jobs and is fully trained on mechanical and electrical repairs, equipment use, adjustments, and unique situations.
  7. Health and Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all employees.
Requirements
  1. Education: Associates degree or completed certification in production, manufacturing maintenance.
  2. Experience: 5+ years' previous experience in equipment and electrical maintenance, preventative maintenance, PLC, Hydraulics Systems.
  3. Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  4. Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Supervisory Experience: Previous supervisory experience in coaching, training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolution strongly preferred.
  2. Manufacturing Experience: Experience with manufacturing safety practices, production floor environments.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  1. Analytical Skills: Solid analytical, mechanical, and mathematical skills.
  2. Maintenance Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  3. Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of maintenance in corrugated, converting, and packaging equipment.
  4. Manufacturing Systems: Working knowledge of manufacturing systems including shop floor software, EXCEL, and PLC.
  5. Time Management: Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently.
