About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team at KIK Consumer Products, Inc. This is a critical role that will be responsible for driving operational excellence and plant optimization across our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Develop and implement strategies to improve safety, quality, cost, and production metrics, ensuring budgeted goals are met or exceeded.
  • Develop and Deliver Budgets: Create and manage budgets for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) and other related functions.
  • Implement Continuous Improvement: Drive the effective implementation of the Maintenance Program, focusing on waste reduction, cost savings, productivity improvement, and cycle time reduction through good manufacturing practices.
  • Ensure Operational Metrics Success: Oversee the success of all operational and maintenance metrics, including delivery, productivity improvement, equipment and parts inventory, and quality programs.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate daily with the management team regarding safety, quality, scheduling, delivery, workload capacity, and staffing issues.
  • Analyze Equipment Performance: Analyze equipment performance to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and Maintain PM Systems: Develop and maintain an effective and sustainable preventive maintenance (PM) system to support productivity efficiencies in the plant.
  • Order and Maintain Spare Parts: Order and maintain adequate spare parts within budget guidelines.
  • Manage and Evaluate Performance: Manage and evaluate the performance of individuals within the department, providing mentoring and development opportunities to grow technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Drive Rapid Problem Solving: Drive rapid problem-solving and root cause analysis from the production floor.
  • Coordinate Outside Contracting: Coordinate outside contracting with in-house projects as necessary.
  • Achieve Cost Reduction Targets: Achieve cost reduction targets, reduce waste, improve quality, identify and resolve ergonomic issues.
  • Understand EHS Hazards: Understand and identify environmental, health, and safety (EHS) hazards, risks, and controls of operations and activities at the site.
  • Drive Standardized Work: Drive the creation and improvement of standardized work.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5 or more years of experience in a unionized manufacturing facility with lean manufacturing practices.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Thorough understanding of manufacturing plant operations, including industry experience in manufacturing.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to be well-organized and a team player.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented and accurate, with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Ability to work independently and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Integrated Manufacturing Systems: Experience with integrated/computerized manufacturing systems, with JDE experience preferred.
  • Electrical, Hydraulic, Mechanical, and Pneumatic Plant Equipment: Full understanding of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic plant equipment, including PLC programming.
  • Microsoft Applications: Proficient with Microsoft applications, with a strong understanding of Excel.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or 5S experience preferred.
  • Meet Deadlines and Deliver Quality Results: Must meet deadlines and deliver quality results.
  • Detail-Oriented with Multiple Priorities: Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, complexity, and work within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
