Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor to join our team at Trojan Battery Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the activities in maintenance, alteration, and repair of plant systems, as well as managing capital budget projects and departmental budget/spending.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct preparation of specifications, layouts, drawings, cost estimates, and other related documents for facilities, tooling, and equipment.
  • Ensure timely installations and modifications to minimize costly downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Plan and organize predictive maintenance programs to increase equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Communicate with customers and stakeholders to inform them of improvement activities.
  • Direct the activities of the Facilities, MRO Administrator to maintain facilities and critical parts min/max inventories.
  • Research, plan, and prepare proposals for approval of capital equipment, cost reduction, energy savings, expansion construction, major maintenance projects, and service contracts.
  • Collaborate with the Environmental group to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental standards.
  • Work with Engineering and Quality to introduce and validate new processes or equipment.
  • Initiate and develop cost reduction projects/initiatives.
  • Manage facility central services such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, compressors, dust collectors, electrical substations, and building needs.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of experience working in an industrial/manufacturing maintenance field.
  • 5+ years of facility maintenance experience.
  • At least 4 years in an active supervisory position.
  • College graduate desirable, with a combination of experience and education considered.
  • Proficient in English, bilingual (Spanish/English) desirable.
  • Excellent general math skills and college-level algebra and related math disciplines used in engineering.
  • Valid CA Driver's License and current liability insurance.
Working Environment

The work environment is normal office conditions with frequent and regular inspections/tours of the manufacturing facility areas, including exposure to extreme heat, corrosive chemicals, and leaded environments. Some extended periods may require the use of personal protective equipment.

Occasional overtime may be required, and consistent and regular attendance is necessary.
