About the Role

C&D Technologies is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Maintenance Scheduler to join our manufacturing team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and supervising preventative maintenance schedules for all manufacturing equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for all manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Coordination and Supervision: Coordinate and supervise with maintenance technicians and other relevant personnel to ensure timely execution of scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Schedule Adjustments: Adjust and update maintenance schedules based on equipment performance data, production schedules, and feedback from maintenance staff.
  • Work Order Management: Responsible to supervise, coordinate and schedule Predictive, preventive, and corrective work order management.
  • Equipment Service: Work together with the production planner to schedule equipment service.
  • Work Order Generation: Generate and distribute work orders for preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring clarity and completeness of instructions.
  • Record Keeping: Track and document the completion of work orders, maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and outcomes.
  • Prioritization: Prioritize maintenance tasks based on criticality and potential impact on production.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to equipment performance/reliability, maintenance history, and downtime incidents.
  • Reporting: Generate reports and present findings to management, highlighting trends, areas of concern, and opportunities for improvement.
  • CMMS Utilization: Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to manage maintenance data and generate actionable insights.
  • Preventative Maintenance Frequency: Evaluate and update preventative maintenance frequency based upon needs analysis.
  • Pre-Shutdown Meetings: Responsible to lead pre-shutdown meetings.
  • Order Verification: Responsible to supervise and verify preventive, predictive, corrective orders where successfully and correctly completed.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISO-9001 standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Inventory Management
  • Material Coordination: Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of necessary materials and components.
Compliance and Safety
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure and supervise that all preventative maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Internal Policies: Follow internal policies and procedures, such as non-standard permit requirements, AQMD permit, LOTO.
  • Environmental Compliance: Comply with all environmental requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years in manufacturing maintenance field and/or manufacturing industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Skills: Proven experience in maintenance planning or scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software tools.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics.
  • Communication Skills: Able to communicate with equipment manufacturers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Preventative Maintenance Techniques: Possess an understanding of preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Maintenance Best Practices: Knowledge of maintenance best practices, equipment reliability, and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Education and Training: Will obtain an Engineers & Technicians Association degree related to maintenance.
  • Availability: Occasional overtime and working weekends may be required.
  • Attendance: Consistent and regular attendance required.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
  • Best Practices: Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize preventative maintenance activities.
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in maintenance technology and practices.
  • PC Skills: Excellent PC skills and communication and organizational skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in conditions subject to hazards such as proximity to moving parts, electrical current, and moving objects carrying considerable weight and force.
  • Software Proficiency: MS Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • CMMS Knowledge: Working knowledge of automated CMMS system.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs.
Language Skills
  • Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in English, bilingual (Spanish/English) desirable.
Mathematical Skills
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Excellent general math skills.
  • College-Level Math: College level algebra and related math disciplines used in engineering.
