We are looking for a meticulous and committed Maintenance Clerk to enhance our operational efficiency. The Maintenance Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting the upkeep and repair of machinery and equipment utilized in our tire recycling operations. The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in maintenance activities and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing & Receiving: Assist the Maintenance department with essential purchasing and receiving tasks, including generating purchase orders and reconciling invoices for accounts payable.
  • Time Keeping: Aid the Maintenance Manager in maintaining accurate time records through the ADP system.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and components, ensuring timely reordering and availability.
  • Documentation & Data Entry: Keep precise records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment performance, preparing reports as necessary.
  • Safety Compliance: Support the Maintenance Manager in adhering to safety regulations and company protocols, including training and documentation.
  • Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, and other team members to schedule maintenance tasks, minimizing operational disruptions.
  • CMMS Utilization: Employ Computerized Maintenance Management System software to track maintenance data, create work orders, and perform scheduling and reporting analysis.
  • Logistics Support: Provide backup assistance for scrap operation logistics as required.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the Engineer or General Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a maintenance role, ideally within a manufacturing or recycling context.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and repair methodologies.
  • Software Proficiency: Competent in using maintenance management software and tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to document and report maintenance activities effectively.
  • Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in industrial maintenance.
  • Bilingual: Proficiency in both Spanish and English is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional light to medium lifting and carrying (up to 30 pounds).
  • Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or respond to urgent maintenance needs as necessary.
  • Primarily sedentary work with occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting required.
