About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc. As a Sales Associate, you will play a critical role in driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer service to our customers in the HVAC industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute Sales Functions: Process orders, manage purchase orders, handle payment processing, and ensure accurate information is entered to guarantee correct items are ordered.
  • Support Branch Sales: Communicate with dealers, conduct outbound calls, and engage in in-house counter discussions to promote new products, services, and sales.
  • Maintain Sales Programs: Keep customers informed about available services, supplies, prices, and new products within assigned territories.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Offer product and order information, sales support, warranties, and returns to customers.
  • Recommend Alternate Products: Suggest products based on cost, availability, or specifications as needed.
  • Coordinate Shipments: Monitor scheduled shipment dates, expedite as needed, and coordinate with manufacturing, sales, distribution, and vendors.
  • Generate New and Repeat Sales: Provide timely product and technical information to customers.
  • Educate Customers: Inform customers about product terminology, features, and benefits to improve sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Process Cash Drawer: Manage daily cash drawer processing, end-of-shift counts, and prepare deposit slips.
  • Maintain Records and Reports: Prepare sales activity reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor Customer Satisfaction: Periodically assess customer satisfaction with our organization, products, and services.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Expand knowledge of HVAC products and stay current with industry trends.
  • Collaborate with Management: Work with branch managers to resolve problems, ensure customer satisfaction, and adhere to company policies.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of HVAC Equipment/Products: Preferred knowledge of HVAC equipment and products.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: General Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, as well as working knowledge of database applications.
  • Customer Service Skills: Effective customer service and relationship management skills, including walk-ins, phone, and email communication.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical product information clearly.
  • Organizational Skills: Effective organizational and time management skills, including prioritization and multitasking.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on compliance.
  • Teamwork: Ability to establish positive working relationships with internal and external customers and employees.
  • Work Ethics: Strong work ethics and integrity, with a results-driven approach.
Experience and Education
  • Progressive Sales and Customer Service Experience: 3-6 years of experience in sales and customer service, with a focus on the HVAC industry.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent, with some college preferred. HVAC training is a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to customer sites, training events, and company meetings (estimated 20%).
