Job Title: Sexual Assault Advocacy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Sexual Assault Advocacy Specialist to join our team at YWCA Clark County. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in providing support and advocacy services to survivors of sexual assault.

Job Summary:

The Sexual Assault Advocacy Specialist will provide direct services to survivors of sexual assault, including crisis intervention, advocacy, and support. This role will also involve working with community partners, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to ensure that survivors receive the support and resources they need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis intervention and advocacy services to survivors of sexual assault
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, law enforcement, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other YWCA Clark County staff to ensure that survivors receive comprehensive support and services
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Document and report participant-related information in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience working with survivors of trauma
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Ability to maintain strong boundaries and prioritize participant confidentiality
  • Strong advocacy skills and ability to utilize empowerment-based advocacy practices
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other staff members
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual skills
  • Experience working with survivors of sexual assault
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention principles
