DCS Corp is seeking a Cyber System Security Engineer to support critical defense initiatives. This role integrates traditional systems engineering with cybersecurity principles, requiring a comprehensive understanding of both hardware and software design.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in air platforms or weapon systems and demonstrate a keen interest in applying cybersecurity methodologies to develop engineering requirements and conduct Cyber Survivability Risk Assessments (CSRAs) alongside threat vector analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and identify cyber threats at various levels including system, sub-system, hardware, and software.
  • Review and analyze technical documentation such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs), specifications, and system architectures.
  • Investigate known vulnerabilities through databases (CVEs and CWEs) relevant to system components and software.
  • Prepare reports based on findings in accordance with Standard Work Packages (SWPs) or implementation guidelines.
  • Identify threat vectors and assess risks throughout the project lifecycle via engineering CSRAs.
  • Collaborate with Program Information Assurance personnel to align CSRA findings with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, aiding in the attainment of authority to operate (ATO).
  • Develop and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Research established mitigations applicable to system components and software.
  • Implement Defense-in-Depth strategies to fulfill cybersecurity objectives.
  • Present mitigation strategies to stakeholders and customize implementations to meet specific requirements.
  • Contribute to the formulation of software, supply chain, and mission assurance plans.
  • Analyze software development practices and delivery pipelines.
  • Trace system/product/component origins and supply chain pathways, documenting associated risks.
  • Understand mission-critical functions and identify tools and techniques for physical and logical security.
  • Assist in developing engineering requirements that enhance cyber resilience and operational effectiveness.
  • Encourage a culture of learning by providing mentorship and support to team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of the role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required. Candidates with a high school diploma and 15 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in Science/Engineering or Systems Engineering is essential, with a background in either platforms or weapon systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently in a dynamic environment while adhering to stringent information security protocols.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and investigative abilities.
  • At least one of the following certifications is required: CEH, Security+, CISSP, GIAC, Pentest+, or OSCP.
  • This position requires onsite work; remote work is not an option.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • High moral character and integrity are essential.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, or a related field is preferred. A Master’s degree is highly desirable.

  • Experience with Static and Dynamic Analysis Tools.
  • Highly organized, execution-focused, and driven by mission success.
  • Technical knowledge reflecting current industry trends, including Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience working within Agile frameworks and small team environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile toolsets and measurement practices.
