DCS Corp is seeking a Cyber System Security Engineer to support critical defense initiatives. This role merges traditional systems engineering with cybersecurity principles, ensuring comprehensive analysis of hardware and software designs.

The ideal candidate will possess experience with air platforms or weapon systems and will be eager to develop and apply cybersecurity skills in engineering requirements and Cyber Survivability Risk Assessments (CSRAs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and identify cyber threats at various system levels, including hardware and software.
  • Analyze technical documentation, such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system architectures.
  • Research vulnerabilities through established databases (CVEs and CWEs) relevant to system components.
  • Document findings and generate reports following Standard Work Packages (SWPs).
  • Identify risk factors and threat vectors throughout the project lifecycle via engineering CSRAs.
  • Collaborate with Program IA personnel to align CSRA findings with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
  • Develop and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Investigate known mitigations applicable to system components.
  • Implement Defense-in-Depth strategies to meet cybersecurity objectives.
  • Present mitigation strategies to stakeholders and customize implementations based on their needs.
  • Contribute to the formulation of software, supply chain, and mission assurance plans.
  • Examine software development methodologies and delivery processes.
  • Trace system and component origins through the supply chain to identify and document risks.
  • Understand mission-critical functions and identify tools and techniques for protection.
  • Assist in developing engineering requirements that enhance cyber resilience and operational effectiveness.
  • Encourage a culture of learning by mentoring team members in skill development.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of the role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 15 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 4 years of experience is acceptable.
  • Experience in Science/Engineering or Systems Engineering, with platform or weapon system exposure.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; TS/SCI eligibility is preferred.
  • Capability to work independently in a dynamic environment while adhering to stringent security protocols.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • At least one of the following certifications is required: CEH, Security+, CISSP, GIAC, Pentest+, or OSCP.
  • This position requires onsite presence; remote work is not an option.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • High moral character and integrity are essential.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, or a related field is preferred; a Master’s degree is highly desirable.

  • Strategic thinking and business insight to prioritize tasks aligned with organizational goals.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, MIL-STD 1553, Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS), and Systems Engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Bash, Powershell, or Java.
  • Experience with Static and Dynamic Analysis Tools.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, and driven by mission success.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends, including Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Agile tools and metrics.
