DCS Corp is seeking a Cyber System Security Engineer to support critical defense initiatives. This role integrates traditional systems engineering with advanced cyber engineering principles. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of both hardware and software design, as the position involves comprehensive system analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and identify cyber threats at various levels including system, sub-system, hardware, and software.
  • Analyze technical and programmatic documentation such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Specifications, and System Architectures.
  • Investigate known vulnerabilities from databases (CVEs and CWEs) relevant to system components and software.
  • Document findings in reports following Standard Work Packages (SWPs) or implementation guidelines.
  • Identify threat vectors and assess risks throughout the project lifecycle via engineering Cyber Survivability Risk Assessments (CSRAs).
  • Assist Program Information Assurance personnel in correlating CSRA findings with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and provide necessary artifacts for authority to operate (ATO) processes.
  • Develop and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Research existing mitigations applicable to system components and software.
  • Implement Defense-in-Depth strategies to meet cyber protection objectives.
  • Communicate mitigation strategies to stakeholders and customize implementations to align with requirements.
  • Support the formulation of software, supply chain, and mission assurance plans.
  • Examine software development methodologies and delivery pipelines.
  • Trace system and component origins through the supply chain to identify and document risks.
  • Understand mission-critical functions and identify tools and techniques for physical and logical security.
  • Contribute to the creation of engineering requirements that enhance cyber resilience and operational effectiveness.
  • Encourage a collaborative learning environment by mentoring team members in skill development.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of the role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with over 5 years of relevant experience is required. Candidates with a high school diploma and 15 years of experience or a Master’s degree with 4 years of experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in Science/Engineering or Systems Engineering, particularly with air platforms or weapon systems, is essential.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and be eligible for TS/SCI.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a dynamic environment while adhering to stringent information security protocols.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and investigative abilities.
  • Possession of at least one relevant certification such as CEH, Security+, CISSP, GIAC, Pentest+, or OSCP is required.
  • This position requires onsite presence; remote work is not an option.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • High moral character and integrity are essential.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, or a related field is required, with a Master’s degree being highly desirable.

  • Strategic thinking and business insight to prioritize tasks in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Familiarity with Embedded systems, MIL-STD 1553, Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS), and Systems Engineering/Systems Thinking.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Bash, Powershell, or Java.
  • Experience with Static and Dynamic Analysis Tools.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, and driven by mission success.
  • Technical knowledge with an emphasis on current industry trends, including Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience working within Agile frameworks and small teams or Scrum environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools and measurement practices.
