Job Description

Public Citizen is seeking a highly motivated and experienced campaign director to lead our efforts in advancing climate accountability and criminal prosecution of the fossil fuel industry.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in campaigns, organizing, and advocacy, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful campaigns and building coalitions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing campaign strategy and tactics in consultation with the Climate Program director and other staff and partners
  • Identifying opportunities for direct action organizing, grassroots advocacy, and earned media tactics
  • Building and maintaining relationships with partners and stakeholders
  • Representing Public Citizen in public forums and media
  • Supervising staff, interns, volunteers, and contractors

Qualifications include:

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in campaigns, organizing, or advocacy
  • Strong strategic thinking and oral and written communication abilities
  • Outstanding people skills and ability to build relationships
  • High energy, enthusiasm, persistence, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of and experience in the climate accountability space is a plus

Salary and benefits are competitive, with a salary range of $98,226 - $127,060 and a generous benefit package.
