POSITION SUMMARY

The Resettlement Coordinator will be an integral part of the Resettlement team at the Dearborn field office, ensuring that program objectives, case management, care standards, and reporting obligations are met through effective oversight of daily operations. This role will report directly to the Field Office Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the daily functions of the Resettlement team and the provision of essential resettlement services for newly arrived refugee families and individuals.
  • Manage case assignments and maintain precise records for all pre-arrival documentation and databases.
  • Track client progress and success, conducting quality assurance reviews of all case files to ensure compliance with program standards and optimal resource utilization.
  • Plan and monitor direct assistance expenditures for each new arrival case assigned to the team, ensuring adherence to budgetary and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues and external partners to deliver core services and facilitate smooth transitions to other programs, such as volunteer coordination, health services, employment services, and ESL classes.
  • Ensure compliance with all resettlement program standards and grant requirements through regular internal assessments.
  • Provide regular updates to the Field Office Director regarding case progress, challenges, and concerns.
  • Address issues proactively and manage them to resolution.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, coupled with a minimum of two years of experience in refugee resettlement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong time-management and organizational abilities.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory.
  • A creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, demonstrating self-motivation and the capacity to meet goals and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and database management.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the mission of USCRI and a desire for long-term growth within a nonprofit organization.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful completion of USCRI's Orientation and Training.
  • Engagement in additional training and job responsibilities as identified by supervisors or program directors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, visual acuity, and auditory perception.
  • Capability to engage in repetitive motions, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained mental focus.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, along with bending, pulling, and carrying.
