POSITION SUMMARY
The Resettlement Coordinator will be an integral part of the Resettlement team, operating within the Dearborn field office. This role is essential in achieving program objectives, managing casework, adhering to care standards, and fulfilling reporting obligations through effective oversight of daily functions. The Resettlement Coordinator will report directly to the Field Office Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily activities of the Resettlement team, ensuring the delivery of essential services to newly arrived refugee families and individuals.
- Manage case assignments and maintain comprehensive records of all pre-arrival documentation and databases.
- Evaluate client progress and success, conducting quality assurance reviews of case files to ensure compliance with program standards and efficient resource utilization.
- Track and manage direct assistance expenditures for each assigned case, ensuring compliance with budgetary and contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to provide core services and facilitate smooth transitions to additional programs, such as health services, employment assistance, and language classes.
- Ensure adherence to all resettlement program standards and grant requirements through regular internal evaluations.
- Provide regular updates to the Field Office Director regarding case developments, challenges, and concerns.
- Address and resolve issues as they arise.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of two years of experience in refugee resettlement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.
- Adept at creative problem-solving.
- Ability to function effectively as part of a team and independently, demonstrating self-motivation and the capacity to meet goals in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management systems.
- A demonstrated commitment to the mission of USCRI and a desire for long-term growth within a nonprofit setting.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Successful completion of USCRI's Orientation and Training programs.
- Engagement in additional training and responsibilities as identified by supervisors or program directors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, visual acuity, and auditory skills.
- Capacity for repetitive motions, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained mental focus.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, along with bending and carrying tasks.
