Job Summary


Under the supervision of a Case Manager, this role involves providing resettlement support services to eligible refugee clients, adhering to organizational and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Case Manager on all pre-arrival case tasks, including housing arrangements and communication with US Ties and co-sponsors.
  • Conduct home safety inspections as necessary and furnish homes with essential items.
  • Facilitate initial airport reception and home safety orientation for newly arrived refugees.
  • Assist with applications for Social Security cards, public benefits, and other relevant registrations within specified timeframes.
  • Document all visits, case activities, and efforts to address refugee needs as outlined by Operational Guidance.
  • Provide transportation for refugee services as required, ensuring compliance with applicable child safety laws.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or community services is preferred.
  • One year of experience in refugee-related casework and community services is preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment and a willingness to engage with refugees.
  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in the languages of refugee clients preferred, including the ability to translate both written and verbally.
  • Demonstrated compassion and patience towards individuals served.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively with staff and clients, contributing to shared goals.
  • Aptitude for identifying needs and communicating them to case managers for follow-up.
  • Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn various computer programs, including Excel and graphic applications.

Additional Requirements


A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting clients, current automobile registration, and proof of automobile insurance are required.
