Patient Services Representative II, Gastroenterology Specialist

Job Summary:
Sutter Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative II to join our gastroenterology team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients entering the medical facility, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
- Verify patient information, schedule appointments, and update Electronic Health Records (EHRs) with accuracy and efficiency.
- Facilitate intake procedures, including completion of healthcare and insurance forms, and collect payments for services.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Adhere to all organizational, local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Perform specific tasks and/or orient other staff to the department as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
- 1 year of recent relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
- Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures, as well as patient billing.
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures.
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Working Conditions:
- Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, with occasional weekends (subject to change).
- Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
