At Casella Waste Systems, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the preventative maintenance and repairs of our fleet vehicles. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and technical skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction to on-site technicians to ensure all repairs and maintenance work is performed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Oversee the coordination, planning, and scheduling of all repair work to increase productivity while effectively monitoring the shop's operational performance and efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on maintenance assistance and training as needed to ensure opportunity for personal and professional growth to all technicians.
  • Maintain an ongoing preventative maintenance program to set the standard for service excellence and identify trends in road calls and break downs.
  • Perform inspections of outside repairs and maintenance to ensure all work is properly completed in accordance with Company safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems of company vehicles.
  • Manage professional business relationships with external vendors and maintain knowledge of all equipment warranties.
  • Makes purchases, manages inventory, completes warranty recovery, and repair order processing utilizing our maintenance management software, Transman.
  • Executes parts inventory management processes, including conducting physical inventory, parts ordering, reviving, coordinating parts pick-up and delivery, and stocking inventory.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills and ensures compliance with all applicable corporate, federal, and state rules and regulations by communicating clear goals and providing coaching and development opportunities that ensure employees achieve the necessary skills and organizational results.
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED and must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • 5 or more years of experience, along with 3 years of leadership experience, are required.
  • Relevant certifications in safety training and in techniques for process improvements are preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong customer service orientation are required.
  • Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office applications, is preferred.
