Work Schedule
2:30 PM start time - 10 hour shifts

I. Overview of the Role
This position is responsible for overseeing the complete fleet of primary and secondary vehicles, with a continuous focus on achieving profitability within the market base through effective management of all fleet and maintenance operations in the designated area. This includes cost management, personnel development, and adherence to high training and safety standards.

II. Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure the availability of safe and reliable vehicles to meet operational demands.
2. Conduct fleet assessments to verify compliance with maintenance standards.
3. Supervise maintenance managers to maintain performance and cost efficiency across the region.
4. Review capital equipment requests in accordance with corporate guidelines and objectives.
5. Optimize the utilization of vehicle assets.
6. Ensure maintenance facilities are sufficiently staffed and that mechanics receive appropriate training.
7. Guarantee effective use of vehicle management systems.
8. Comply with and promote adherence to WM's Mission to Zero standards and regulations to foster safe and efficient operations.
9. Meet all financial review deadlines and corporate program directives promptly.
10. Assist in the budgeting process as necessary.
11. Foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere through employee development and motivation.
12. Oversee the cleanliness and upkeep of maintenance facilities through regular inspections and preventive maintenance initiatives.
13. Manage departmental personnel needs, including the selection, coaching, and training of staff and maintenance managers, as well as evaluating employee performance. Provide input on termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
14. Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline managers in accordance with WM's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with standards in their management of counseling and disciplinary actions.
15. Deliver training and presentations as required in a professional and constructive manner.

III. Qualifications
The qualifications listed below are representative of the requirements necessary to perform the job effectively.

Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree (accredited) or, in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) along with 4 years of relevant experience required.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of prior experience (in addition to educational requirements) is required.

IV. Work Environment
This role primarily operates in a professional office setting and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and copy machines.
