Job Summary:
Under general supervision, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing a diverse range of fleet vehicles, equipment, and specialized machinery.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. Diagnose, perform maintenance, and repair on light, medium, and heavy vehicles and equipment.
  2. Service vehicles with essential fluids such as fuel, oil, and coolant; conduct preventive maintenance by checking battery condition, tire pressure, fluid levels, and hydraulic systems.
  3. Execute skilled repairs and maintenance on various gasoline-powered equipment and vehicles, including replacing bearings, axle seals, and resurfacing brake components.
  4. Repair, overhaul, replace, and rebuild engines and various vehicle components.
  5. Diagnose, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems.
  6. Coordinate with administration and other trades to ensure efficient project completion.
  7. Assist in the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment to guarantee operational availability.
  8. Conduct installation and removal of auxiliary equipment.
  9. Respond to emergency situations to address immediate safety concerns.
  10. Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in safe operating condition.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to operate and instruct others on the proper use of light and medium vehicles and equipment.
  • Capability to diagnose vehicle and equipment failures using trade knowledge and diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to explain and demonstrate established policies, procedures, and standards to others.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Ability to recognize and identify individual characteristics of colors and odors.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required.
  • Two or more certifications from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) are preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, reaching, and manual work.
  • Occasional exposure to loud noises.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to hear and see to meet positioning and safety requirements.
  • Occasional exposure to environmental elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals.

Special Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Must successfully pass a federal, state, or local government's background investigation.
  • A valid state driver's license is required.
  • A valid commercial driver's license (A, B, or C with specific endorsements) is preferred.
