Job Overview
The Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete fleet of primary and secondary vehicles, with a continuous emphasis on achieving profitability within the market base. This role involves effective management of all fleet and maintenance operations in the designated area, focusing on cost control, development of management personnel, and adherence to high training and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure the availability of safe and reliable vehicles to meet operational demands.
2. Conduct evaluations of the fleet to verify compliance with maintenance standards.
3. Supervise maintenance managers to guarantee performance and cost efficiency across the region.
4. Review capital equipment requests in accordance with corporate guidelines and objectives.
5. Manage the effective use of vehicle assets.
6. Ensure that maintenance facilities are sufficiently staffed and that mechanics receive proper training.
7. Oversee the effective utilization of vehicle management systems.
8. Comply with and promote adherence to WM's Mission to Zero standards and regulations to foster safe and efficient operations.
9. Meet all financial review deadlines and corporate directives in a timely manner.
10. Assist in the budgeting process as needed.
11. Foster a positive, team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation.
12. Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of maintenance facilities through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
13. Oversee departmental personnel needs, including selection, coaching, training, and performance evaluation of staff and maintenance managers.
14. Provide input on termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

Employee Development
Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline managers in accordance with WM's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with standards in the administration of counseling and disciplinary actions. Provide training and presentations as required in a professional and positive manner.

Qualifications
The qualifications listed below are representative of the skills and experience necessary to perform this role:
Education:
Bachelor's degree (accredited) or, in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) along with 4 years of relevant experience required.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of prior experience (in addition to educational requirements) is required.

Work Environment
This position primarily operates in a professional office setting and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines.
