Position Overview

The Residential Services Supervisor plays a pivotal role in cultivating a secure and nurturing atmosphere that promotes effective communication, well-being, empowerment, and support for the individuals served by the program. This position entails comprehensive oversight of the residential facilities under their management, along with all personnel operating within those environments. The Supervisor will directly oversee the Lead Staff and Direct Support Professionals (DSP) within their designated sites, serving as a model for staff in terms of job performance, workplace attitude, and professional interactions with clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management

  • Provide direct supervision to all personnel at the site.
  • Conduct regular meetings with site employees to offer skill development and mentorship, while documenting and addressing any areas needing improvement.
  • Oversee scheduling for the site, managing callouts, no-shows, and time-off requests to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Participate in the recruitment process by interviewing and recommending candidates for DSP positions.
  • Engage in all planning and team meetings concerning each individual served.

Program Development

  • Respond effectively to crisis situations by alerting the necessary parties and completing incident reports as required.
  • Immediately report any medical issues to unit leadership or the agency nurse.
  • Plan and coordinate monthly activities for consumers, ensuring proper implementation and funding.
  • Manage daily operations of units and sites as outlined in Individual Support Plans (ISP) or treatment protocols.

Administrative Duties

  • Oversee and reconcile all expenditures related to the site and consumers.
  • Ensure the maintenance and safety of the physical site and vehicles, reporting any required repairs to the Unit Director.
  • Monitor the timely completion of all site documentation, including logs, medication records, and incident reports, and communicate any issues to the Program Director.
  • Prepare the home for state licensing inspections, ensuring all consumer files and medication records are in order.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5-6 years of experience working with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Behavioral Health diagnoses, or in Drug and Alcohol Recovery Programs.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations, organizational values, and program policies.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including email and data entry programs.
  • Valid Driver's License and personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Must pass employment screenings, including any necessary background checks.

Vaccination Requirement:

Employees in programs within the designated area are required to provide proof of Covid vaccination. If not fully vaccinated, they must receive at least one dose in a two-dose series or a single dose in a one-dose series before starting in-person shifts. Final doses must be administered within a specified timeframe after hire.
