Availability:
- OPEN AVAILABILITY
We are currently seeking part-time Support Aides for our programs. Reporting to the Residential Supervisor, the Support Aide provides trauma-informed assistance to residents and their families, ensuring a welcoming and safe community environment while adhering to the highest quality standards.
- The Generations I program serves young women up to age 21 who are pregnant and/or parenting.
- The Crossroads program supports young adults aged 18-24 in their transition to adulthood.
Shifts: This position requires working one of three shifts, as the programs are staffed 24 hours a day. Responsibilities may vary based on the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Foster an environment that promotes growth and encourages resident participation in goal-setting and service planning.
- Maintain ethical and professional interactions with staff and residents, holding all parties accountable for their conduct.
- Manage crisis situations calmly and effectively to ensure resident safety.
- Collaborate positively with other Support Aides and team members.
Direct Service
- Supervise residents and ensure they have adequate meals and activities.
- Transport residents to appointments and manage inventory and supply needs.
- Adhere to medication administration policies and procedures.
- Support an environment conducive to growth and development.
Documentation & Communication
- Complete documentation promptly and accurately, including therapeutic interactions, incident reports, and progress notes.
- Submit daily end-of-shift reports.
- Provide residents with written reminders for appointments.
- Communicate essential information with staff regarding residents' needs and activities.
Monitoring
- Track resident participation in programs and responsibilities.
- Monitor school attendance as applicable.
Basic Skills Required:
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents.
- Capability to provide clear oral and written instructions.
- Proficiency in computer use and relevant software.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in human services or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two years working with adolescents in relevant settings required.
- Special Skills: Familiarity with the Philadelphia child welfare system and related services.
- Certification in medication administration is a plus.
Physical Capabilities & Work Environment:
- Ability to navigate stairs and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to drive as needed.
Trauma-Informed Approach:
- Commitment to maintaining a trauma-informed culture.
- Understanding of trauma's impact on development.
- Utilization of person-first and strengths-based language.
