Position Overview

Role Summary : Assist the Human Resources division in maintaining data accuracy and adherence to applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Under supervision, this role is tasked with implementing various HR initiatives and protocols for personnel at the facility. This position handles daily Human Resources functions and provides assistance to employees through various communication channels.

  • Recruitment of non-exempt positions.
  • Oversees the pre-employment process, including E-Verify and candidate background checks.
  • Conducts new hire orientation and ensures all onboarding documentation is finalized.
  • Monitors compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations by maintaining necessary records.
  • Ensures precise, complete, and timely employee information through data entry and/or completion of relevant standard forms or HRIS/ATS transactions. Updates may involve new hires, separations, job changes, leave activities, departmental shifts, pay alterations, etc.
  • Performs daily audits of employee attendance records to guarantee accurate payroll data is submitted to the payroll team during designated pay cycles. Adheres to established wage and hour compliance protocols and corporate governance standards.
  • Supports local and national initiatives utilizing Readerlink's change management strategies.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of personnel files for current and former employees, ensuring compliance with internal document retention policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Manages employee data, including personal information, attendance, and termination records.
  • Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide necessary information for payroll and other purposes.
  • Reviews employee files to respond to inquiries and provides information to authorized personnel.
  • Administers local recognition programs and employee engagement activities.
  • Assists with internal and external compliance audits.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of prior experience in an HR support capacity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and HR Time Keeping Systems preferred.
  • Availability to support 2nd shift as scheduled.

Core Competencies: To successfully perform this role, an individual should exhibit the following competencies:

  • Understanding of Recruitment processes and Benefit Administration.
  • Knowledge of Payroll systems.
  • Familiarity with Employee and Labor Relations.

Physical Demands: The requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to effectively perform the essential functions of this position. While executing the duties of this role, the employee:

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods.
  • Will frequently engage in repetitive hand/arm movements for tasks such as typing.
  • Requires specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers, and handle or feel objects.

Communication Skills:

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Capability to compose routine reports.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Work Environment:
