Position Responsibilities

As a Law Enforcement Officer at City of Kirkland, your duties will include upholding public safety, safeguarding individuals and property, deterring criminal activity, and enforcing regulations. You will engage in investigations, liaise with witnesses and victims, gather evidence, and compile reports for judicial proceedings.

**Special Incentive for Experienced Law Enforcement Applicants at Kirkland PD:
A $25,000 bonus is available in three installments upon successful completion of training and probationary phases.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, candidates must be at least 21 years old, a US citizen or permanent resident, possess no felony convictions, and meet vision standards. Additionally, completion of Police Basic Training Academy and a minimum of 12 months of service as a sworn officer are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience as a sworn officer is preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Expect a dynamic work setting with potential physical and psychological challenges. Roles may range from general patrol duties to specialized units such as K-9 or Traffic.

Work Hours

Rotating shifts are part of the schedule, providing flexibility for officers.

Selection Process

The recruitment process includes an initial review, interview, fitness assessment, and background verification before final selection. Various evaluations such as medical, psychological, and polygraph tests will be conducted.
