CONNECTICUT INSTITUTE FOR COMMUNITIES INC is seeking to hire a Health Center Receptionist for its School-Based Health Center. This role is essential in providing a welcoming environment for patients and ensuring efficient operations within the health center.

Position Overview: The Health Center Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, requiring exceptional communication, organizational, and computer skills. This position involves direct interaction with patients, assisting them with registration, insurance inquiries, and demographic information collection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them in making their visit pleasant and efficient.
  • Answer incoming calls in a friendly and professional manner, screening calls and taking messages as necessary.
  • Schedule appointments accurately, ensuring that time slots are appropriate and minimally disruptive to students' academic schedules.
  • Maintain the daily schedule and reconcile it with encounter forms to ensure all records are complete.
  • Provide exceptional service to patients, addressing any questions regarding health insurance and billing.
  • Collect and verify necessary identification and financial documents from patients.
  • Stay informed about state and federal medical coverage programs and assist patients with applications as needed.
  • Follow up with patients regarding missed appointments and ensure they receive necessary information about their visits.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing daily correspondence.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a High School Diploma, with substantial administrative experience preferred. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are required. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
