Position Overview: The Patient Registration Coordinator plays a crucial role in welcoming patients at CONNECTICUT INSTITUTE FOR COMMUNITIES INC. This position is suited for individuals who are personable, organized, and adept at assisting patients with their registration, insurance information, and demographic details. The Coordinator will greet, guide, schedule, and act as a bridge between patients and healthcare professionals. Additionally, responsibilities include managing calls, appointments, and departmental scheduling.

  • Classification: Standard/Full Time or Part-Time
  • Status: Non-Exempt
  • Supervision: This position does not supervise others

Key Duties:

  • Warmly welcome patients and ensure a positive experience at the facility
  • Politely handle phone inquiries, screening and managing messages efficiently
  • Schedule appointments and effectively manage appointment durations
  • Accurately coordinate follow-ups, tests, and referrals
  • Collect patient payments in accordance with established guidelines
  • Maintain an organized schedule and balance daily collections
  • Provide outstanding service in person and over the phone regarding registration, scheduling, and insurance questions
  • Ensure precise input of demographic and insurance information
  • Gather necessary documents and signatures from patients

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is advantageous
  • Proficiency in computer skills is required; experience with EMR systems is preferred
  • Multi-lingual candidates (English, Spanish, Portuguese) are encouraged to apply

Health Requirements:

  • Proof of no communicable diseases
  • Fit for duty examination
