Job Overview

Patient Transport Specialist

Part-time position requiring 24 hours per week with 8-hour shifts that vary between 7 AM and 11 PM.

Position Summary:
The Patient Transport Specialist is responsible for safely transporting patients to and from their designated testing locations, delivering necessary equipment to nursing units, and managing the delivery and removal of blood products and sterile supplies.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate of $16.00
  • An additional $2.50 per hour for evening shifts (3 PM - 11:30 PM)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Efficiently transports both in-patients and out-patients as required.

2. Aids in maintaining a secure and organized work environment.

3. Engages in setting and achieving departmental objectives.

4. Upholds confidentiality regarding all patient and family information at all times.

5. Utilizes effective communication skills with patients, families, visitors, medical personnel, and hospital staff.

6. Stays informed about job-related responsibilities through mandatory training and staff meetings.

7. Develops and maintains productive working relationships with healthcare staff, patients, and their families.

8. Proactively seeks guidance and direction when necessary.

9. Provides support during emergency situations as needed.

10. Assumes dispatcher duties when required.

11. Implements basic trapeze setups and retrieves equipment for other traction setups.

Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

Skills:
Must possess conversational English proficiency along with strong listening and comprehension abilities. Capability to work effectively with diverse populations, including young, elderly, ill, and physically challenged individuals is essential.

Experience:
Minimum of six months in a related role is preferred.

Additional Preferences:
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment:
This role may involve physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and exposure to various environmental factors.
