Compensation:
The pay range is $32.255 per hour, with potential adjustments based on education and experience within fiscal constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate statistical and financial operations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Plan and execute investigative audits.
• Utilize statistical analysis techniques on data sets.
• Conduct preliminary audit research.
• Educate clients on relevant statutes and regulations.
• Compile and analyze data gathered from audits.
• Draft various documents, including correspondence, work papers, and audit reports.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration or accounting.
Legal Requirements: Positions in this classification are subject to Title 42, Nebraska Administrative Code, Chapter 1 - Minimum Standards for Government Employees Identified as Auditors. A Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent, with at least 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing, is required.
Preferred Qualifications: A combination of education and experience in business and accounting.
Other: A valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation is necessary. Availability for occasional travel, including overnight stays, is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of auditing and accounting principles, standards, and practices.
  • Proficiency in Word, Access, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interpret and apply financial/accounting principles in analytical situations.
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment in various settings.
  • Creativity and decisiveness in evaluating information against measurable criteria.
