Compensation:
The hourly wage ranges from $21.881 to $32.255, depending on relevant experience and qualifications, subject to budgetary approval.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of financial records and reports from Authorized Gaming Operators to ensure compliance with state regulations.
- Perform in-depth audit testing to verify adherence to established financial policies and legal requirements.
- Execute routine and complex field audits of financial and statistical records.
- Design and implement forensic audits to improve operational efficiency within gaming entities.
- Analyze financial data and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver testimony regarding audit findings in various regulatory and legal contexts.
- Assume additional responsibilities as necessary to meet the evolving needs of the Commission.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting is required.
Legal Requirements:
Compliance with Title 42, Nebraska Administrative Code, Chapter 1 is mandatory. A minimum of 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing is required.
Preferred Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in conducting financial audits is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
This position necessitates reliable attendance and a valid driver’s license. Occasional travel to operator sites may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, including GAAP.
- Interest in the operational and regulatory frameworks of the gaming industry.
- Analytical skills to detect financial discrepancies and irregularities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in preparing reports and ensuring financial data accuracy.
