Join DigitalOcean's Developer Content Team as a Lead Technical Content Strategist, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our technical documentation and resources. This position involves spearheading our content initiatives, overseeing a team of skilled technical writers, and ensuring excellence in all technical materials published on our Community platform.

In this role, you will generate innovative content ideas and mentor writers by offering constructive editorial guidance on articles that delve into software development, DigitalOcean offerings, managing Linux systems, and software installation and configuration. You will champion our audience by aligning content with our editorial standards, verifying the accuracy of the information presented, and refining articles as necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a background in technical writing or editing, with a strong inclination to be both a leader and an active contributor to content creation while shaping our overarching content strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Crafting, refining, and disseminating tutorials focused on practical applications in software development, system administration, AI/ML, and DevOps.Overseeing our technical content strategy, proposing new topics, and establishing processes to enhance our team's content delivery efficiency.Leading a team of technical writers, providing editorial insights and supporting their professional development.Leveraging analytics and data to optimize content strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals while prioritizing the production of high-quality educational resources.Utilizing your editorial expertise to enhance the technical accuracy, clarity, and overall quality of each tutorial, ensuring optimal outcomes for developers.Fostering strong collaboration with other departments, including Developer Marketing, Developer Community, and Developer Advocacy.Testing published tutorials to guarantee their functionality.Prioritizing content maintenance based on various performance metrics and business needs.

What You Bring to DigitalOcean

Demonstrated experience in writing and editing technical content for developer communities, covering topics such as software development, AI/ML, or system administration.Proficiency in at least one of the following front-end technologies: JavaScript, React, or Angular.Familiarity with at least one of the following back-end technologies: Go, Python, or Django.Ability to articulate software development concepts and best practices, along with a willingness to research new and unfamiliar topics.Comfort in providing and receiving detailed and constructive feedback.Experience with the Linux command line, web application setup, deployment, and general Linux server management is advantageous.Awareness of DigitalOcean's existing content library and products is a plus.
