Lead Technical Product Strategist (Backend APIs)

Every technology division requires a clear "Product Vision", a "Technology Vision", and a "Delivery Vision" to create exceptional products. In this role, you will be the key communicator among these three elements for one of E4B's major Financial Institution Loyalty partners. You will engage as a problem-solver across various technology teams at E4B and Expedia Group, as well as with external collaborators, ensuring that teams work together to transform promising ideas into impactful products. Your expertise will not only encompass e-commerce technology and systems design but also effective communication and process management. You will act as a technical and product leader in cross-functional feature delivery and oversee product and technology processes for a partnership with a multi-billion-dollar entity. Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes experience to guide technical feasibility discussions, involving architects as necessary.
  • Oversees product intake for a large team of technologists.
  • Possesses familiarity with APIs and public cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Acts as the primary liaison between Product and Technology teams.
  • Investigates technical requirements for product requests.
  • Assesses and manages technical risks.
  • Prioritizes the technology backlog, balancing product roadmap deliverables with business-as-usual and technical debt tasks.
  • Collaborates with product teams to define use cases, user acceptance criteria, and testing scenarios.
  • Promotes technical best practices such as product documentation, static and dynamic scanning, code reviews, and A/B testing.
  • Aims for optimal organizational efficiency by applying systems thinking across boundaries and recommending policy/process improvements.
  • Employs a holistic approach to analyze issues and implements comprehensive solutions by ensuring connections between structure, personnel, processes, and technology.
  • Provides support to development teams, clarifying requirements for specific milestones.
  • Conducts research on ad-hoc and business-as-usual requests, reproducing errors, and preparing stories for development team intake.
  • Eliminates technical obstacles through collaboration with appropriate technical teams.
  • Works with operations and support teams to ensure robust monitoring of production features is established.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical and/or product roles.
  • A proven leader in technology, product management, processes, and organizational coordination.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce architecture and production resilience.
  • Strong background in collaborating closely with Product Management to deliver clear requirements and backlogs.
  • Comfortable utilizing data to inform technical and business decisions.
  • Experience with APIs and working with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
  • Proficient in communicating with users, technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements, describe software product features, collaborate on and review technical designs, and support production systems.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $157,500.00 to $220,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $252,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
